This fully-fledged sashigane-style square is completely augmented by the addition of a plastic stop. Not only can it be used for measuring and marking as with any sashigane, but it can also mark accurate lines parallel to an edge or at 45 degrees to it.

The stop incorporates a bronze leaf spring and steel screw that clamp it firmly in place.
